    Safety Declaration

    BONNEDO foremost interest in all projects is SAFETY and ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION; and we will demonstrate SAFETY in all our operations. We are already conversant with Client safety policy and standards, which will be adhered to in conjunction with our own safety policy in the execution of our contract services.

    We have familiarized ourselves with requirements for STANDARDS FOR ON/OFF-SHORE PROJECTS MANAGEMENT and will incorporate all standards into our operations. BONNEDO will also provide all necessary safety clothing and equipment for all personnel. We will ensure that persons engaged in work and services in all contracts shall remain medically fit throughout the duration of the contracts. We will be prepared to present certificates of medical fitness on all personnel and ensure that all personnel are Client certified swimmers.

    BONNEDO shall engage the services of a safety manager and a project manager who will ultimately be responsible for safety in our operations. The staff will also have experienced safety officers who are well acquainted with Client's safety regulations and will ensure that all proper work permits and complementary certificates are obtained prior to commencement of work and shall keep them up to date daily and ensure that all safe working practices are observed during the execution of all contracts.

    We shall strictly enforce the permit to work system before commencement of any work. Only Client's authorizations can action any night movement. BONNEDO have Accident/workmen's compensation insurance policy for their workers against any occupational disease or any other impairment to health or injury by accident.

    Community Affairs Policy

    BONNEDO must ensure proper public relation with the host community, and create an avenue for interactions. Reporting of all hostile treats or confrontation with the HOST community will enable the field management team to investigate and eliminate the underlying cause.

    Our objective is to maintain very good relationship with the HOST community and reduce the impact of BONNEDOS' operation on the HOST communitys' environment to barest minimum throughout any contract execution.

    Safety Policy

    Bonnedo Activities shall be organized, Planned And Executed in such manner as to:

    • Protect and promote the health of its work force and conduct its activities in such a way that third parties shall not be affected.
    • Avoid injury to workers, Sub-Contractors, and third parties who are either involved in or are affected by activities of Bonnedo Engineering And General Services Limited.
    • Ensure the personal security of the work force and third parties.
    • Minimize the impact on the environment in which Bonnedo operate

    Every employee of Bonnedo shall perform his/her work in accordance with this policy,and work must be suspended when it is believed that essential safety systems are not in place.

    Drug & Alcohol Policy
    It is an offense for any employee of Bonnedo to be under the influence of alcohol or in possession of or under the influence of any non-prescribed drug such as cocaine, amphetamine, marijuana, hashish or other illegal or controlled substance while working or residing on any job-site, including water borne operation, or property under the control of Bonnedo. The Policy applies to all operations and all locations on a 24 hours basis. Unannounced searches and screening shall be conducted to ensure compliance.

    Environmental Policy

    It is the responsibility of each Bonnedo personnel to perform his work in an environmentally sound manner. It is the policy of Bonnedo to promote and encourage awareness of and to protect and preserve the environment. Im implementing this policy, staff are encouraged to pay appropriate regards to the environment by acting to preserve air, water, soil, plant and animal eyes from adverse effects of their actions or those of the sub-contractors' to minimize any nuisance which may arise from such actions.

    All waste generated during the project shall be collected, handled, treated and disposed in such a way as not to have impact on the environment. regular environmental assessment shall be conducted by our environmental quality control consultants. At the conclusion of any activity, our ultimate goal is to have left the work site in a condition as near as possible to the state in which is found. clean-up gangs, remove all debris to prevent injuries to lives and preserve the order of the habitat.

    Waste Disposal Policy
    All refuse must be agreed and carried back to base for proper disposal. Littering of refuse around work site is prohibited and same shall not be thrown into surrounding rivers or bushes. Client's policy on refuse disposal must be adhered to strictly.

    Policy on Night Sailing and Driving
    Bonnedo is against night sailing and driving in all her swamp/marine and land operations. There shall be no night steaming of vessels/boats or night driving, except on emergency cases. Such emergency cases must be approved by company and/or client's management. staff or crew who are cut violating the rule against night driving or sailing shall be disciplined.

    Policy on use of Seat Belt

    Seat belt are provided for he safety of drivers and/or passengers in all vehicles. It is mandatory for all employees to put on seat belts at all times while on company business.

    NO SEAT BELT, NO ENTRY, NO TAKE OFF.

    To ensure compliance to this policy directive, all drivers should prior to take off their seat belts fastened at all times and remind their passengers to do same by simply announcing: FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELT. The security officers at both the site and company premises gates should carry out visual inspections of any company or other vehicles entering or leaving the premises to ensure all occupants comply to the directive. The security officers should bar any vehicle from leaving or entering the premises until all occupants of the vehicle have complied with the directive. While in the premises or work sites, it is the responsibility of the safety officer, Foreman, Supervisor and indeed any member of line management present to monitor and ensure that every one in company owned vehicle fastens hid/her Seat Belts. Appropriate disciplinary action may be taken against any staff that violates this policy directive.

    Journey Management Policy
    Each journey, land or marine journeys, outstation journeys and Day or Night journeys exceeding 5km of the Operational areas, shall be planned, executed, monitored / controlled, and reviewed in a manner that the purpose of the journey is accomplished without any accident/incident. This journey management plan must be done in such a way as to;
    • To minimize risks and numbers of accidents during transport Operations.
    • To reduce frustration inherent in transportation
    • To smoothen suitable emergency response
    • To ensure transparent Audit.

    Any defaulting driver or quartermaster shall be seriously sanctioned.

    Training & Manpower Development Policy

    BONNEDO believes that training and manpower development are essential tools for safe operations. Training is one of the strategies for enhanced HSE Management. It is an incentive/investment and enhances motivation, high morale and high productivity.

    Our training and development strategy is aimed at providing employees at all levels of the business with the right mix of skills and competencies they require to deliver exceptional performance in their various jobs. Staff the best in their chosen fields. We shall not only train our staff, but also personally monitor their progress and give them post-training support.

    Access Policy
    It is the policy of BONNEDO that all visitors to any location (including the base) where the company carries out its activities must adhere to the guidelines stipulated at points of entry so as to safeguard life and property.
    To ensure the implementation of this policy, access will be granted at entry points to company facilities only when:
    • Seatbelts are worn at the point of entry/exit. The 'No Seatbelt, No Entry/Exit" rule shall be enforced at gates leading to the company's premises.
    • Valid swimming passes must be presented at points of entry into any swamp/off-shore location.
    • Proper logging and issuance of visitors'/contractors' passes must be done at the gate and must be worn at all times by the visitor/contractor within the company premises/location and returned at the gate on leaving the premises/location.
    • Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn before entry.
    • Identification cards must be shown by either clients' representatives or employees.
    • Properties must be declared at the entry points to company facilities (including spreads) before entry.
    • All personnel must submit themselves for proper indoctrination.
    • On exit, all personnel (including visitors/contractors) must submit themselves for searching at the exit points before exit is granted.

    Access will be denied in the event that there is non - compliance with any of the above.

    Crew Change & Outstation Management Policy

    BONNEDO shall recruit capable and competent staff for her operations. These staffshall be posted to various work locations as the need may arise. Staff posted to any location shall not exceed the three-weeks on site period. Thereafter he should be relieved by another staff for a one-week off - site rest (time-off).

    On no account shall any staff exceed his on-site period except on special permission of his head of department and or the Personnel or Project Manager. Adequate and matching out - station allowance(s) as prescribed in the company's condition of service, shall be paid to such staff posted for off base jobs.

    Driving/Equipment Operating Policy

    It is the policy of that all drivers/operators (professional & occasional) should be trained, tested and certified. Constant retraining and re-qualification is also a part of the company's policy.

    BONNEDO driving /equipment operating policy also stipulates that drivers/operators must be inducted before they are allowed access to use or operate company's vehicle/equipment. All drivers/operators so inducted and tested are issued with internal company's driver's/operator's license/permit in addition to the regular government license.

    The driving /equipment operating policy also has the following guidelines/regulations:
    • All drivers/operators must submit themselves for visual eye (acuity) test.
    • All drivers, operators and passengers must wear seatbelts.
    • Only licensed and trained drivers/operators may operate company equipment/motorized vehicles.
    • Drivers are responsible for the safety of all their passengers and vehicles.
    • Drivers/operators must comply with all safety regulations, laws, ordinances and speed restrictions on driving.
    • The use of alcohol or other intoxicating elements or drugs that can cause drowsiness by any driver/operator is completely forbidden.

    In line with the safety policy statement, all drivers/operators are expected to carry out their operations in such a way as to promote the safety of lives, properties and the environment. Any violation of this shall not be tolerated.
